General Info

Tucked away at 177 Pleasant Hill Ave N, Sebastopol, CA 95472, United States, Buddies Pizza is the kind of pizza restaurant that feels easy to settle into, whether you’re stopping by for a quick slice or planning a relaxed meal with friends. The spot keeps things simple and welcoming, focusing on what most people want from a neighborhood diner-style pizza place: good food, a casual atmosphere, and convenient service.

Walking in for the first time, the vibe immediately feels comfortable. It’s the sort of restaurant where you don’t feel rushed. The menu centers around pizza and other classic comfort food options that work well for both a full meal and a quick bite. During my visit, it was clear that people come here for different reasons-some guests were dining in and taking their time, while others were picking up orders or arranging delivery to enjoy Buddies Pizza at home.

The menu leans into the satisfying side of pizza dining. You’ll find a range of pizza choices that fit the mood whether you’re hungry for a full meal or just want something simple and filling. The comfort-food focus makes it approachable for everyone. Families, solo diners, and small groups all seemed to find something that worked for them. It’s easy to imagine this being a regular stop for locals who want a reliable place to grab pizza without overthinking the decision.

One thing that stands out about Buddies Pizza is the flexibility in how you can enjoy it. If you’re nearby, the dine-in option makes it easy to sit down and enjoy your food fresh from the kitchen. On the other hand, the delivery service is perfect for those nights when staying in feels like the better plan. That combination makes the restaurant convenient for both planned dinners and last-minute cravings.

Practical details also add to the appeal. Free street parking around the location makes visiting fairly stress-free, which isn’t always guaranteed when trying a new restaurant. Being able to park nearby and walk straight in definitely adds to the overall experience.

From what I observed and experienced, Buddies Pizza works well as a dependable local pizza stop. The relaxed setting, comfort-focused menu, and flexible service options make it the kind of place people can return to again and again. What customers say?

“ We picked up a pizza from Buddy's. I'm from back east, so pizza in CA is normally pretty hit or miss -usually miss. Not Buddy's, this place is the real deal! The sauce has substance, the crust has just the right amount of elasticity and is so tasty! I had a mushroom pie with olives and artichoke hearts. I'll be back to try the sausage! ”

- Mike Robertori -

“ We ordered the small gluten-free pizza the dough for which the owner has prepared outside the shop . We have now tried two excellent toppings which he makes himself, the Mediterranean one is our favorite. Probably the best gluten-free pizza one can find without making it at home! ”

- Anne M Pincus, phd -

“ Excellent Pizza even after driving home 20 minutes away and waiting another 30+ minutes doing chores at hone before eating it. Only suggestion is to use less dough on the medium so the slice can be picked up from the crust better but other than that it was great. ”

“ I ordered a pie to take back to my shop and share for lunch. It was quick, if spartan and appeared to be owner-operated. I waited an appropriately short amount of time for fresh handmade pizza and the owner brought the pie to my car with a smile. I made it about four blocks down before I opened that box and had a slice at the long wait to turn onto 116. OK... When was the last time you could EAT A PIZZA SLICE WHILE DRIVING? Most pizzas get soggy instantly out of the oven, they go limp and wet. It's taking your life into your own hands. Not Buddy's Pizza. OMG, it was so supple in flavor but the crust is snappy and crisp, sealing the tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese where it belongs, on the top of the pie. You can perfectly fold it and eat it out of the box, 5, 10, 20, 60 minutes or even 12 hours later. Great crust. Great bottom. Good flavor. Fresh toppings. WOW, man the crust is unbelievable. My first topping was mushroom and olive, my second was pepperoni and fresh garlic - so good, yum! There's not a lot about West County that surprises me: one of them though, is finding a good, fresh, carefully crafted food right under our beaks. Buddies Pizza is our latest find, and I can't even remember how to spell Mombzzzz. Buddies is a tiny outfit, possibly just owner operated. It's carryout only, and I can tell you it's worth it if the owner made you bark like a dog or run a 1/4 mile for each slice - you'd find a way. It's a hell of a deal for super fresh, quality made pizza for the same price as mass produced. Lunch 10" pie and a drink for around $14. A large pie is comparable to other shops in the area. None of them have this good of a dough and crust. I had a large, fresh Caesar salad as well for around $12 that was big enough to split. As one small owner-operated Sebastopol business to other locals. Support this shop. Eat Buddy's Pizza. You'll thank me later (hopefully with a 10" pepperoni and garlic for lunch)! ”

“ Excellent pizza and salad! Salad was huge! Dressing homemade. Highly recommend. ”

“ Greeted by the owner and the delicious smell of baking pizza. Some off the best pizza I’ve had in a long time. The crust was so good!! I cannot wait to go back ”

“ First and foremost, we found this place by accident and all I can say is we had to come for round 2 before we left town. The pizza was fresh and the ingredients were as well. The owner was friendly and even brought our pizza out to the car when it was ready. I love when you can taste the love put in a business’s food. We will be back and I told the owner that! My wife said this pizza is worth just driving out here for from where we live in the Sacramento area. ”

- Marc Allen -

“ Buddies is our go to pizza place for our famil of four. We don’t buy pizza anywhere else anymore. The pizza is fabulous and the service is as well. We really love the owner - he is a really good person and very kind. *update - we still love Buddies and are so excited that we can now get their pizza delivered with DoorDash!!!!! ”
